Total Spy Vibes: Bloodline (The Cull) Preview

A new and original take on vampire lore, Eric J. Gates’ The Cull series seeks to capture the essence of Bram Stoker’s, John Polidori’s and Lord Byron’s original vampire novels. It’s first installment, Bloodline, is set firmly in the present day featuring two female federal agents as its protagonists.

This book was introduced to us by the author himself. We were hesitant, but the book is free on all major platforms like Kindle, iBooks, etc, and the reviews speak for themselves.

Goodreads gives it 4.16/5 stars, and Amazon even higher at 4.4/5 stars!

“No fangs; no morphing into bats; just adrenaline-pumping fury as two female Federal agents encounter the unimaginable.”

Pages: 395

Goodreads Summary:

Amy Bree’s reckless actions result in death and her dismissal from the FBI.

A visit from a mysterious priest propels her back into the fray, as she is partnered with an ex-spy, with fearsome computer skills, and tasked to hunt down and kill the serial killer known as the Blood Sucker.

Their quarry is not what they expect: old, very old, and needs blood to survive.

The body count rises… and the hunters become the hunted!

Needless to say we were both ready to dive in when we read the summary. The author, Eric Gates, also has lived ‘a curious life filled with the stuff of thriller novels. Writing Operating Systems for Supercomputers, cracking cryptographic codes under extreme pressure using only paper and pen and teaching Cyberwarfare to spies are just a few of the moments he’s willing to recall. He is an ex-International Management Consultant who has travelled extensively worldwide, speaks several languages, and has had articles and papers published in technical magazines in six different countries, as well as radio and TV spots. His specialty, Information Technology Security, has brought him into contact with the Military and Intelligence communities on numerous occasions. He is also an expert martial artist, holding 14 black belt degrees in distinct disciplines. He has taught his skills to Police and Military personnel, as well as to the public. He is the author of several thriller novels and collaborates with other authors and Writer Networks.’

First of all: Total spy vibes.

Second: Cool.

Our review will be posted soon, but right now we can’t wait to read a new, exciting, fast paced novel!
